Cesar Chavez Education Building

The Arts Education Program holds over thirty art classes at venues through the city; however, it has one permanent facility that serves as the education center for the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.

The Cesar Chavez Education Building holds three classroom spaces for year-round on-going classes. This historic building is located across the street from the Guadalupe Theater and the Administrative Offices.
Its central location gives it much accessibility to the immediate community, hence increasing enrollment of students into the Education Program every year.

Born: March 31, 1927
Died: April 23, 1993

Cesar Chavez was a Mexican American labor activist and leader of the United Farm Workers. During the 20th century he was a leading voice for migrant farm workers (people who move from place to place in order to find work). His tireless leadership focused national attention on these laborers' terrible working conditions, which eventually led
to improvements.
