Dia de los Niños
Borrowing from the traditional Mexican holiday “El día de los Niños”, the American version of this time honored celebration was expanded in 1997, under the stewardship of author Pat Mora, to include a literacy component .
The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center honors “Dia de los Niños/Dia de los Libros” with a program that promotes literacy and the importance of connecting children to books. In addition to artist readings, children participate in various hands-on art activities, and refreshments are provided.
