Dear Friends of the Guadalupe,
I am the new Executive Director of the beloved Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and I have some exciting news to share – we have been awarded a $100,000 challenge grant by the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation.
I am extremely honored and grateful to join the San Antonio community by leading this institution. The Guadalupe means so much to so many who have lived important and memorable experiences within these walls and on these premises.
We will continue providing even more powerful cultural productions and memories with your help. We can create a stronger Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center with your contribution towards our match grant. We need to raise $30,000 before the end of the year to keep on schedule.
Each gift from new or lapsed donors will be matched dollar for dollar by the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation. If successful in our efforts, the Guadalupe will finish restoring the historic Progreso Pharmacy building and Guadalupe Theater, giving San Antonio’s next generation a viable place that honors the traditions and histories upon which our city thrives — a vision your gift will help make a reality. With your support, the Guadalupe will do the following:
- create an additional gallery/exhibition space expanding public access to a diverse cultural legacy;
- provide a space solely focusing on arts education and community-building for a network of local organizations;
- contribute to the economic health of the Westside by continuing to beautify the old “Villa Guadalupe” neighborhood.
I look forward to serving the community of San Antonio and hope that you will join me in this journey by becoming an advocate for the Guadalupe and making a contribution that will help us to continue to cultivate, preserve, promote the Latino, Chicano and Native American arts and culture. Contributions can be securely made online at guadalupeculturalarts.org/donate or by calling us at 210-271-3151 before December 31, 2016.
Thank you so much for your support.
