Holiday Saxophones first launched in 1982 with a performances at Los Padrinos – a local ice house run by the legendary Mendez sisters – and in 1984 moved to the historic Guadalupe Theater to accommodate a larger audience. Since then, Prado and team have entertained thousands with their rendition of holiday classics.
The musical event has become a holiday tradition not only for audience members, but for many of the musicians as well. Featured performers include Frank Rodarte, Jan Halsema and multi-Grammy nominee Joe Posada on saxophone as well as drummer Kevin Hess, Al Gomez on trumpet and bass player George Prado in addition to: Aaron Prado, Chuck Glave, John Magaldi, Rich Oppenheim, Larry Slezak, Rene Sandoval, Stan Lillian, and Al Gomez.
