GCAC School-to-Work Program

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is launching a Paid Internship Program to provide eligible college students with the opportunity to work in a creative setting as well as learn skills that will assist in meeting future career goals. Students will gain project management experience and develop a multitude of specialized hands-on skills that cannot be taught in the classroom. All internships will be project-based and demonstrate professional practice and implementation of a project from conception to completion.
The following are current available internship opportunities.
Marketing Intern
Assist in design, development and distribution of GCAC marketing materials. Assist with web design, print marketing and special marketing projects.
Education Intern
Assist with workshops, tours, class scheduling, and teacher training of all three education programs at the GCAC including the Escuela Project, Guadalupe Academy, and Teen Arts Puentes Project.
Visitor Service Team Intern 
Join a group of 4 interns that become the GCAC hospitality team. Assist with all facets of GCAC programming and assist visitors in knowing all about the many opportunities to experience the rich Latino culture of this neighborhood.
Exhibition Intern
Assist in installation, production, visitor services, and associated programming of exhibitions at the GCAC.
Program Intern Assist Program Director with the planning and implementation of programs, as well as assist with the organization and documentation of these programs.
Ability to communicate effectively with people of different constituencies, including: coworkers, supervisors, patrons of GCAC, and artists-in-residence.
Ability to organize large amounts of information.
Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interest and experience in Marketing; Education, Museum Studies; and or Studio Art as applicable.
Familiarity with the arts, hands-on art making processes and various material knowledge is a plus.
Student Eligibility
The following requirements apply:
1) Be currently enrolled in a school, college or university.
2) Commit to the entire internship session (at least 15 weeks @ 20 hours a week)
4) Possess a willingness to learn, positive attitude and self-motivation
