Hueso Familiy Puppet Workshop

If you’re familiar with the history of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, you probably have fond memories of Rick Diaz’s “Hueso Family”.  These larger than life puppets have participated in numerous processions and performances in and around San Antonio’s Westside and continue to reside at the Guadalupe.  This year they will preside at our Día de los Muertos celebration on November 2nd!

If you’re a fan or know of someone interested in learning something unique then perhaps our new puppet workshop is for you!  The workshop will be led by Rick Diaz –  a master puppeteer with over 30 years of experience creating puppets and performing through this unique stagecraft.  Participant will enjoy 4 workshops and learn how to create their own Hueso family member puppet!

 

Workshop Dates:  Oct 30, Nov 6, 13, 20.  two hour classes (8 hours)

Deadline to Register:  Friday, Oct 30.

Workshop Times: 5pm-7pm

Participant ages:  ages 7 and up – Adults also welcomed  (This is a family workshop so participants under the age of 12 are encouraged to participate in the workshop with one adult family member present)

Instructor: Rick Diaz

Cost: $60.00 includes materials to make one puppet.
